The Verona Police Department has posted a video of another car theft in Verona to show the public how fast a car can be stolen. The theft occurred on Friday, May 20, at approximately 6:20 p.m., after the car was left with the keys inside, unlocked, and running.

“In 2021, every car theft that occurred in Verona had the same thing in common,” the VPD said on Instagram. “The keys were left inside the vehicles. These criminals are looking for an easy target. Don’t make your vehicle an easy one by locking your car and removing the keys.”

This case is active and currently under investigation by Verona detectives along with Officer Pami. If anyone has any information, please contact headquarters at (973) 239-5000.
