Mahindra Thar with new logo in a quick walkaround video

New generation Mahindra Thar was launched in 2020 and it became an instant hit among SUV buyers. There were many factors responsible for its success including the price. Couple of year after the launch, Mahindra has now silently started offering the new Thar with Mahindra’s twin peak logo. The production for the 2022 version of Thar has started and the SUV has started reaching dealerships too. Mahindra is silently introducing the new logo in almost all their SUVs. What all has changed in the Mahindra Thar with new twin peak logo, here we have a walkaround video that shows just that.

The video has been uploaded by The Car Show on their YouTube channel. In this video, the vlogger shows all the changes in the Mahindra Thar with the new logo. In terms of styling, Mahindra Thar looks exactly the same. Mahindra has however made minor changes to the car and have also added few new features. Starting with the exterior, the headlamps are still halogen units and the grille with Mahindra branding above it also remains the same. The key fob gets Mahindra’s twin peak logo instead of the old one. only one of the keys come with buttons for remote central locking and unlock.

The bumper on this SUV has been slightly revised. The design remains the same however, it not dual-tone anymore. The bumper is now all-black with Thar branding on it. Coming to the side profile, the alloy wheel design remains the same but, it now comes with new Mahindra logo in the center. The Thar comes with no other changes on the side profile. Same is the case with the rear as well. As we move in, the Mahindra Thar gets new logo on the steering wheel. The steering wheel itself is the same unit as before.

There are buttons for cruise control and audio controls on them and the car gets the same instrument cluster with colour MID in the center. Previously there were some dummy buttons on the center console of the Mahindra Thar. These buttons now have functions too. For example, it gets door lock and unlock button and the traction control button is also placed on the center console along with hill descent control. The manual AC and the switches for the same are all placed above that. The upholstery, features like touchscreen infotainment system, roof mounted speakers all remain the same.

Coming to the engine and transmission options, Mahindra Thar is available with both petrol and diesel engine options. It is one of the most affordable 4×4 SUV available for sale in India. It comes with soft top, soft top convertible and a hard top roof from factory. The one seen here is the top-end LX hard top variant. The petrol version of the Mahindra Thar is powered by a 2.0 litre turbocharged mStallion engine that generates 150 Bhp and a maximum of 320 Nm of torque. The diesel version of Thar uses a 2.2 litre mHawk turbocharged engine that generates 130 Bhp and 320 Nm of maximum torque. Both petrol and diesel are available with manual and automatic transmission.
